Ostap Stupka on a drunk driving accident: how the crash changed his life

According to glavcom.ua: Ukrainian theater and film actor Ostap Stupka shared his impressions about the accident he was involved in while under the influence. In an interview on the YouTube channel of Slava Dyomin, the actor confessed that this event was a serious mistake for him. However, he encouraged others not to despair after similar situations, but to try to help the victims.

«This is not just a mistake. This is a fatal mistake. But you shouldn't fall into depression, because at that moment my mood was, to put it mildly, gloomy, and do everything in your power for the person who suffered,» – said Ostap Stupka.

After the accident, the actor became the target of negative attention and criticism online. He even considered the possibility of being judged in the streets, so he decided to hide his identity behind glasses. Despite this, Ostap Stupka continued to perform on stage and considered the idea of apologizing to the audience, although his director discouraged him from doing so.

The actor also denied rumors of alcohol dependence, asserting that he can drink, but this does not indicate any addiction.

In April 2023, in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, Ostap Stupka became involved in a traffic accident while under the influence. The actor crashed into a parked car, injuring a man inside. The driver was detained and sent to pre-trial detention center.

Later, the Prosecutor's Office demanded to cancel the sentence for Ostap Stupka, who was sentenced to limited freedom and deprived of the right to drive vehicles. The prosecutor's appeal was announced during the court session, where the prosecutor opposed the imposed punishment on the actor.

Ostap Stupka openly spoke about his mistake and the consequences of the traffic accident, emphasizing the importance of not falling into despair but trying to help others. He became the target of criticism after the accident, but continued his creative work and proved that he was ready to take responsibility for his actions.
