Passenger traffic through Lviv region increased by 40%
According to glavcom.ua: The summer season has arrived, and passenger traffic through checkpoints in Lviv region is showing a 40% increase. And when the weekends come, the numbers are even more striking - the load increases on average by 16% compared to weekdays. This is reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the State Border Service.
As of 18:00, the situation at the border is as follows:
‘Krakovets’ - 85 vehicles;
‘Shehini’ - 45 vehicles;
‘Hrushev’ - 20 vehicles;
‘Rava-Russka’ - 20 vehicles;
‘Nyzhankovychy’ - 15 vehicles;
‘Uhriniv’ - 10 vehicles.
Currently, the checkpoint ‘Smilnytsia’ is operating without queues.
‘We recommend planning trips in advance and choosing less congested checkpoints. The checkpoint ‘Shehini’ continues to have repair works on the Ukrainian side, which temporarily affects throughput for both cars and trucks’ - report the border guards.
New checkpoints at the Ukrainian border
Let us remind you that Ukraine has signed an agreement with Romania to increase the number of checkpoints through which buses can pass. Thus, buses can now use the ‘Diakovtsi - Rakovets’ checkpoint. Previously, this was impossible due to restrictions from Romania. The decision will be in effect from July 9 to September 30, aimed at accommodating the increased passenger traffic during the summer period.
Passenger traffic through Lviv region has significantly increased this summer; fortunately, checkpoints are operating without delays, and the agreement with Romania will allow buses to pass through the new checkpoint to better manage the crowd of passengers.
