Sizes of the highest special pensions in Ukraine

According to hvylya.net: The Chairman of the subcommittee of the Verkhovna Rada on tax and customs policy, Danilo Hetmantsev, published data on the sizes of the highest special pensions in Ukraine. According to information obtained from the Pension Fund of Ukraine, maximum payments to certain categories of pensioners reach hundreds of thousands of hryvnias monthly.

The highest pensions are received by judges – the record payment amounts to 390 thousand hryvnias per month. The top twenty largest judicial pensions closes with an amount of nearly 320 thousand hryvnias. Prosecutors receive a maximum of 219 thousand hryvnias, while the bottom of their top-20 pension is 119 thousand.

Among the people's deputies, only one receives a pension of 245.9 thousand hryvnias, while the other participants in this ranking have payments ranging from 21.8 to 59.8 thousand hryvnias. For comparison, the maximum pension for miners is only 29 thousand hryvnias.

'The figures are shocking. Primarily because they cannot be compared with the pensions of the parents and relatives of most Ukrainians,' – noted Hetmantsev in his post on social media.

The parliamentarian emphasized the need for a fair system of pension calculations. 'Certainly, pensions should be decent. But not for the chosen few – for all Ukrainians who have worked honestly all their lives,' – he emphasized.

Draft law on the abolition of special pensions for prosecutors

Hetmantsev reported that the consideration of the draft law on the abolition of special pensions for prosecutors is currently ongoing. 'I am confident that we will overcome resistance and pass it in the second reading. This will be the first step toward restoring justice in our country,' – the politician stated.

The largest payments are received by judges, while judges, prosecutors, and people's deputies receive significantly higher pensions than most Ukrainian citizens. The data caused outrage among the public, and politicians began legislative actions to abolish special pensions for prosecutors.
