The Pension Fund will pay for children whose parents do not pay alimony: the size of the assistance

According to the new powers acquired by the Pension Fund of Ukraine, it can now allocate temporary financial support from the state to children in difficult life circumstances. This assistance will be provided if one of the parents fails to fulfill their maintenance obligations. For example, when a father or mother does not pay alimony, is in prison, undergoing treatment, on military service, declared incapacitated, or their whereabouts is unknown.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine will allocate temporary state assistance to children whose parents do not pay alimony. This was reported by the press service of the PFC.
  • One of the parents is registered as a debtors for alimony;
  • A criminal case has been initiated against the father/mother, or he/she is undergoing treatment, in places of deprivation of liberty, or on compulsory military service;
  • It is unknown where one of the parents lives.

The amount of assistance will depend on the financial situation of the family and will be the difference between the child’s subsistence minimum and the average monthly income of the family per person.

Conditions for payment

The maximum amounts for children under 6 years old are 2,563 hryvnias, and for children aged 6 to 18 years - 3,196 hryvnias. The minimum payments are half of the subsistence minimum and amount to 1,281.5 hryvnias and 1,598 hryvnias, respectively.

To receive assistance, the following documents are required:

  • application;
  • copy of the child’s birth certificate;
  • income and property declaration;
  • income certificates (if there is no information in state registries).

The Pension Fund of Ukraine will start providing assistance to children whose parents do not pay alimony, which will provide additional support in difficult life circumstances. Certain documents are required to receive assistance, and the amount of payments will be determined based on the family’s income and the children’s ages.
