Streamlined Online Verification Now Available at Ukraine's Pension Fund

According to ХВИЛЯ: The Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) has launched a new feature allowing individuals to complete their physical identification remotely using the 'Diia.Sign' (Diia ID) service on its official website and mobile app. To participate, users need a smartphone with the Diia app installed, alongside a computer or tablet to finalize the process. The PFU’s regional office in Zaporizhzhia has published a detailed video tutorial outlining each step of this verification method.

How to Complete Physical Identification

The physical identification procedure involves several clear steps. For those using the web portal, the process includes:

  • Accessing the site at portal.pfu.gov.ua;
  • Clicking on 'Login';
  • Selecting the 'Diia.Sign' option;
  • Receiving a login code;
  • Scanning the QR code via the Diia app;
  • Confirming identity through a photo;
  • Entering the five-digit Diia.Sign code.

Once completed, users can track their verification status under the 'My Requests' section in their personal account.

For those using the PFU mobile application, the verification steps are similar:

  • Install or update the PFU app;
  • Choose 'Login with Diia.Sign';
  • Confirm login;
  • Complete photo identification;
  • Create or enter the five-digit security code.

Verification is considered finished upon successful login. The process typically takes about three minutes. Users should note that delays in confirming access via the Diia app may cause their request not to appear on the web portal.

This new online identification option greatly simplifies the way citizens interact with the Pension Fund, enabling easier and faster remote access to its services.

Implementing online identification marks a significant advance in the digital transformation of government services. It reduces waiting times and facilitates smoother access to pension-related support. This modernization aligns with global trends in e-services, enhancing convenience for citizens and improving operational efficiency within public institutions.

As the Pension Fund of Ukraine enhances its digital services, it's important for pensioners abroad to understand their verification requirements. Those living outside the country must complete their physical identification by December 31. For detailed instructions on how to navigate this process and ensure compliance, refer to the guidelines outlined in our article on identification for expatriate pensioners.
