Pensions for Disability Group III in October 2025: Why Payments Will Not Increase

In October 2025, the amount of pensions for people with disabilities of Group III will remain unchanged. The Pension Fund of Ukraine has confirmed that no increase or indexing of such payments is planned for the fall. Payments are adjusted only if there is a right to allowances.

As explained by the agency, pensions for persons with disabilities of Group III are determined individually. The amount of assistance depends on the severity of the illness, the length of insurance experience, and the date of diagnosis.

Pension Calculation Algorithm

First, the number of years of experience (at least one) is taken into account, as well as the period from the moment of establishing disability until reaching 60 years of age. Then, the amount that a person could receive if they retire due to age is determined. For Group III disability, 50% of this indicator is established.

Minimum guarantees are also provided:

• 2,093 UAH for the employed;
• 2,520 UAH for the unemployed.

To apply for payments in 2025, it is necessary to contact the Pension Fund office with documents confirming disability. In the absence of insurance experience, pensions are assigned only to certain categories, including military personnel. For other citizens in such situations, social assistance is provided.

The PFC also reminded that it is not possible to simultaneously apply for a retirement pension and a disability pension. Most often, individuals with childhood disabilities find it more advantageous to receive payments based on the diagnosis.

Features of Pensions for Military Personnel

Military personnel have a separate accrual system. If Group III disability is related to combat operations, the pension amounts to 60% of monetary support, but no less than 9,478 UAH. If the diagnosis is not related to service, the amount of payments is 40% of the support.
