Andrea Kimi Antonelli's Triumph at the Monaco Grand Prix

According to Главком: Andrea Kimi Antonelli, driving for Mercedes, has set a new Formula 1 record by becoming the youngest driver ever to achieve a Grand Slam, following his victory at the Monaco Grand Prix. This feat-which includes securing pole position in qualifying, leading every lap from start to finish, and posting the fastest race lap-was accomplished at just 19 years, 9 months, and 13 days old. The previous record was held by Red Bull's Max Verstappen from the Netherlands, who earned his first Grand Slam at 23 years, 9 months, and 4 days.

Championship Standings

Following his success in Monaco, Antonelli now leads the drivers' championship with 156 points. His closest rivals are:

  • Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari, with 90 points,
  • George Russell of Mercedes, who has 88 points.

In the constructors' championship, Mercedes also holds the top spot with 244 points, while Scuderia Ferrari trails with 165 points and McLaren sits at 118 points.

The next round of the Formula 1 season is scheduled for June 12–14 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló. Last year's Spanish Grand Prix was won by McLaren driver Oscar Piastri. Notably, the Las Vegas Grand Prix has signed a ten-year contract with Formula 1, keeping the race on the calendar at least through the 2037 season.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli's performance at the Monaco Grand Prix highlights his potential as one of the most promising young drivers in Formula 1. His record-breaking Grand Slam not only reshaped the sport's history but also positions him as a strong contender for the championship title.

Given the results of previous races, the competition among Mercedes, Ferrari, and McLaren is expected to remain fierce, adding further intrigue to the upcoming rounds of the season.

Antonelli's remarkable victory at the Monaco Grand Prix comes amid a dramatic season, especially with Verstappen's unexpected retirement at the start of the race. This incident not only shifted the dynamics of the championship but also intensified the competition among leading teams, making the upcoming rounds even more critical for all drivers involved.
