PlayCity fines Instagram blogger for illegal casino advertising

An Instagram blogger with an audience of about 300,000 followers has been fined 4.8 million UAH for continuously promoting gambling. He actively advertised online casinos through his account, posting promotional material and encouraging followers to participate in gambling. This activity was classified as a violation of advertising legislation, for which PlayCity imposed a fine of 600 minimum wages.

'Inspections will continue. And each such case serves as an example that transparent and fair rules of the game will work for all market players,' said PlayCity.

In addition, Meta, along with PlayCity, blocked seven accounts of other Instagram bloggers for promoting casinos. These bloggers systematically published online casino advertisements in their stories, violating Ukraine's law on regulating gambling.

The Ukrainian state agency PlayCity relies on strict compliance with the law in the field of gambling and ensuring legality in advertising, taking appropriate measures in the event of violations from individual users to licensed casinos.
