According to hvylya.net: In 2025, cigarette prices in Ukraine significantly jumped due to new tax increase laws. Over the past year, prices for domestic cigarettes rose by 33.1%, meaning that a pack now costs 30 Hryvnias more.
Reasons and Consequences of Price Increase
The price increase is explained by a sharp rise in excise taxes in 2025. Alcohol did not rise as quickly: vodka increased by 3.6%, wine by 8%, and beer by 12.5% compared to the previous year.
According to a survey conducted in 2025, 31% of Ukrainians consume tobacco products, of which 27% do so daily. Men consume them significantly more often than women - 41% versus 16%.
The data shows that cigarettes are quite a common product among the Ukrainian population, and the price increase may affect the budgets of many citizens.
