25-year-old senior soldier of the Special Operations Forces Yuriy Shevchuk died on August 17, 2025, while performing a combat mission in the Sumy direction. This was reported by 'Hlavkom', citing the Rivne City Council.

Yura was genuine, sincere, he loved life, adventures, and challenges. He was in a hurry to live, to see the world, and to explore it. Yura could not imagine life without movement, without sports; since his teenage years, he practiced martial arts. He loved to travel. He was a true man, a son, a friend, a loved one, and a comrade. All his close ones sincerely loved him.

Yuriy Shevchuk was born on June 4, 2000, in Rivne, studied at school No. 27, and graduated from the master's program at the National University of Water Management and Nature Management. He worked at the company 'Renome'. In July 2023, he voluntarily signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and devotedly served, protecting his native land.

The farewell to the defender took place on August 22, 3035, at Independence Square in Rivne, where a funeral was held at the Alley of Heroes in the 'Nove' cemetery.

'Hlavkom' joins the moment of silence, honoring the memory of all who died in the fight for their homeland. At this time, candles of memory are lit, and heads are bowed in grief, honoring the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state.

The news reported about commemorating the fallen Ukrainian defenders, in particular Yuriy Shevchuk, reflects the respect and gratitude of society towards the military who laid down their lives on the altar of struggle for the country's independence from aggression. These memory rituals and the honoring of heroes are an important part of the Ukrainian national spirit.
