Attitude towards Ukrainians in Poland

The Ukrainian Ambassador in Poland, Vasyl Bondar, talked about the changing attitude towards Ukrainians in the country, calling this process 'natural'. He also debunked the widespread 'most terrible myth' about Ukrainian women. Vasyl Bondar spoke about this in an interview with 'Gvikom'.

According to Vasyl Bondar, the changes in attitude towards Ukrainians in Poland are part of a natural process. He noted that politicians may use this issue, while some citizens feel anxiety or competition.

«There are justified concerns, but there are also strange stereotypes, for example, the 'most terrible' myth: Ukrainian women will take Polish men», the ambassador said.

The ambassador emphasized that there are usually no problems between ordinary people, as Ukrainians and Poles live together, work, and shop in the same places.

The contribution of Ukrainians to Polish society

Vasyl Bondar also stressed that Ukrainians are successfully integrating into Polish society, learning the country's language and bringing significant benefits to the Polish economy. According to recent data, Ukrainian workers contribute 2.7% to Poland's GDP, while the employment rate of Ukrainians has risen to 69%. 'That's billions of zlotys – much more than the expenses for certain groups of refugees', the ambassador emphasized.

He added that 'the Polish authorities understand: if this million Ukrainian workers is taken away now, the Polish economy will face significant difficulties'.

The Ukrainian ambassador in Poland, Vasyl Bondar, believes that the changes in attitude towards Ukrainians in Poland are a natural process, and Ukrainian workers have become an essential component of the Polish economy, which cannot exist without their contribution.
