The WOS-999 designation appeared in Reserve+: what does it mean
Ukrainians have started noticing a new WOS-999 designation in the application 'Reserve+'. Lawyers explain that it does not indicate a fine, search, loss of reservation, or deferral, but merely reflects the status of the military accounting specialty of certain conscripts. This is reported by Economic News citing lawyers.
What does the WOS-999 designation mean in Reserve+
The WOS-999 designation is assigned to citizens who have transitioned from the category of conscripts to those liable for military service, but who have not previously undergone mandatory or other military service, military department training, or training sessions.
This military accounting specialty means that in the event of mobilization, the person must first undergo basic military training.
Despite the designation 'Reservist Soldier', the owner of WOS-999 is not considered a reservist of the operational reserve. It only refers to a technical record in the military accounting system.
Is it necessary to report to the TCC after the appearance of WOS-999
Lawyers emphasize that the mere appearance of WOS-999 is not grounds for a fine, the issuance of a summons, or placing a person on the wanted list.
This designation also does not affect current reservations or deferments from mobilization. It may even appear for citizens who are already enjoying such guarantees.
The Ministry of Defense notes that after the appearance of WOS-999, no additional actions are required from the citizen. There is no need to contact the territorial recruitment center solely due to this designation.
Thus, WOS-999 is an informational element of military accounting that does not change the legal status of those liable for military service and does not create any new obligations for them.
As a reminder, Reserve+ has started showing the status of reservists.
