Entry Rules to Poland in November 2025: What Can Get You Turned Back

Entry to Poland
Вимоги для в'їзду до Польщі в листопаді 2025: Що може стати причиною відмови у проїзді

Ukrainians planning a trip to Poland in November should consider the updated EU requirements. As of October 12, 2025, a new digital control system has been implemented at the borders, replacing traditional stamps in passports and requiring biometric identification. This is reported by the publication 'Novyny.LIVE'.

Who May Be Denied Entry to Poland

The updated rules apply to all Ukrainians, regardless of visa-free status. At each checkpoint now:

  • instead of a stamp, digital registration is carried out in a unified database;
  • border guards take fingerprints and photograph faces for identity confirmation;
  • passengers are required to exit the vehicle for inspection.

Refusal to provide biometric data automatically results in a ban on entry to the EU. Initially, this may cause delays at the border, but over time the process is promised to become faster and safer.

Other Reasons for Entry Denials

Border guards continue to thoroughly check documents. The most common reasons for refusals include:

  • expired biometric passport or visa;
  • lack of medical insurance, which is now mandatory;
  • insufficient financial resources - you need to have at least 75 zlotys (about 857 UAH) for each day of stay.

Another risk factor is previous violations of migration rules. If a person has ever been deported or has had violations recorded in the Schengen zone, this information is stored in the SIS database, which blocks further entry.

How to Avoid Problems at the Border

Ukrainians are advised to check the validity of their passport, carry insurance, have proof of funds, and be prepared for biometric scanning. Calm cooperation with border guards will help avoid delays and misunderstandings.

Earlier, we reported that in September, Polish border guards recorded a sharp increase in the number of young Ukrainians crossing the border. The entry of citizens aged 18-22 years increased more than tenfold compared to the previous month.
