The Head of European Volleyball in Ukraine: Promises Support and New Initiatives
According to glavcom.ua: The President of the European Volleyball Confederation, Roko Sikiric, visited Ukraine on November 23, where he attended the city of Horodok in Khmelnytskyi region. His visit was related to the final match of the men's Supercup of Ukraine-2025.
In this match, the team 'Epicenter-Podolany' defeated the youth squad 'Epicenter-Podolany - Ukraine U-20 National Team' with a score of 3:0. The best players were Oleksandr Nalozhnyi and Volodymyr Sydorenko.
Support from the European Volleyball Confederation
Before the match, a representative of the European Volleyball Confederation emphasized that his presence in a country that is at war is a confirmation of ongoing support for Ukraine from the Confederation. He expressed respect for Ukrainian volleyball and highlighted its successes on the international stage.
Sikiric promised to continue providing assistance to Ukraine and plans to discuss new formats of cooperation with the Volleyball Federation of Ukraine to develop the sport in the country.
Changes in the Volleyball Federation of Ukraine
Roko Sikiric was appointed as the president of the European Volleyball Confederation, replacing Aleksandar Borichich in this position. The Volleyball Federation of Ukraine demanded Borichich's resignation due to his visit to Moscow for work purposes during the conflict.
The Supercup winners 'Epicenter-Podolany' continue their victorious march, reaching the 1/16 finals of the Challenge Cup and defeating the Cypriot club 'Anorthosis' with a score of 3:0.
The visit of the President of the European Volleyball Confederation to Ukraine emphasized the ongoing support of this organization for the country, as well as assistance in the development of the sport and support for Ukrainian volleyball in the context of internal conflict and external challenges. It was also noted about the appointment of Roko Sikiric as the president of the European Volleyball Confederation and further cooperation with the Volleyball Federation of Ukraine to support the development of sport in the country.
