In Mykolaiv, private carriers have initiated a review of the fare in minibuses due to rising costs, primarily for fuel. So far, no decision has been made, as requests are only under consideration by the city authorities. This is reported by MykVisti.

Increase in fares for Mykolaiv minibuses is being discussed in the city council

As reported by the head of the transport complex, communications and telecommunications department of the city council, Oleg Kuksa, relevant letters have already been received from carriers. Currently, they are being processed by the relevant department that deals with pricing issues.

According to the official, it is too early to talk about specific changes in the fare. The process is still in the analysis stage, and a final decision has not yet been made.

Transport tariffs in Mykolaiv: what affects the possible increase

The main reason for the carriers' initiative is attributed to the rising fuel prices. This factor significantly impacts the cost of transportation.

At the same time, the situation with public transport is different:

  • The municipal enterprise «Mykolaivpastrans» has not submitted requests for fare increases
  • currently, the enterprise continues to operate under the current rates
  • from March 1, 2025, the fare in municipal buses is 15 hryvnias.

It is worth noting that neighboring communities are already preparing for changes. In particular, in South Ukraine and Nova Odesa, there are plans to increase the bus fare from April 1.

At the national level, fuel prices began to rise at the beginning of March. The government does not currently plan to implement strict regulation, emphasizing the importance of stable supply without shortages.

It should be noted that in Kyiv, on certain routes of private carriers, the fare has already been increased. On one route, the price has already risen to 20 hryvnias.
