Concerns Mount Over the Commercialization of the 'Diia' Digital Ecosystem

According to ХВИЛЯ: Oleh Popenko, head of the Union of Consumers of Utility Services, has raised significant concerns about the potential risks of commercializing the 'Diia' digital ecosystem. In a recent address on his YouTube channel 'Oleh Popenko PRO,' he revealed that high-level discussions about selling 'Diia' have been ongoing for several years.

Popenko stated that the idea of selling 'Diia' to investors was first discussed as far back as 2020-2021.

"Fedorov was already pushing this idea to sell Diia to some unknown investors back in 2020-2021,"

said Oleg Popenko, emphasizing that such intentions are a major cause for alarm. 'Diia' is a crucial state-developed platform for digital services in Ukraine.

Potential Negative Impacts of a Commercial Shift

Originally created to simplify citizen access to government services, the commercialization of 'Diia' could lead to adverse outcomes for users. Popenko has called for an open public debate and a thorough analysis of the potential risks associated with the platform's sale.

The prospect of selling 'Diia' has generated widespread public concern, as the platform has become an essential tool for delivering state services. A move toward commercialization could alter the fundamental approach to providing these services, potentially affecting their accessibility and quality for citizens. It is vital that all stakeholders have the opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns on this issue, which directly impacts the rights and interests of every Ukrainian.
