According to Главком: A $38 billion defense aid package for Ukraine in 2026 was agreed upon at the latest meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the Ramstein format. This substantial commitment includes over $6 billion already allocated in specific assistance pledges. In a significant development, Ukraine presented its annual defense objectives and a military-aligned plan to its partners for the first time, marking a shift towards more coordinated, long-term planning.

Key Components of the Financial Aid

The major allocations within the support package include:

• More than $2.5 billion designated for Ukrainian drone capabilities;
• Over $500 million for the Purl initiative;
• Approximately $2 billion for air defense systems.

The United Kingdom is committing £500 million for air defense and a total of £3 billion in military aid for 2026. Germany will direct at least €1 billion towards drone procurement and will fund projects to bolster air defense.

Furthermore, Norway is providing $7 billion, with portions allocated for drones, air defense, and artillery. Sweden announced a €1.2 billion package, while Denmark is increasing its total aid to $2 billion. The Netherlands, Latvia, and Estonia each plan to direct a minimum of 0.25% of their GDP to support Ukraine. The Netherlands announced a €90 million contribution to the Purl initiative, and Spain will provide $1.2 billion.

Additionally, Belgium will allocate €1 billion, Lithuania $265 million, and Canada will separately fund military and medical needs. Australia announced a new contribution to the Purl initiative, and Portugal reported contributions to both Purl and a Czech initiative, along with the transfer of armored vehicles and drones under the Safe program. Turkey will also strengthen Ukrainian air defense with its own contribution, and Slovenia announced an aid package worth $5 million.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the critical need to expedite the delivery of aid packages, particularly those containing air defense assets.

This collective agreement underscores the robust and growing international backing for Ukraine's national security efforts. The coordinated pledges from a wide coalition of nations highlight a sustained global commitment to Ukraine's defense amid ongoing regional threats, with a clear operational focus on countering aerial attacks.
