Record number of applications: Ukrainians massively complain about violations of fundamental rights
The Ombudsman’s Office has recorded a significant number of appeals regarding possible violations of constitutional rights since the beginning of 2025. Human Rights Commissioner Dmitry Lubinets reported receiving 266 complaints, exceeding the number of similar cases registered in the Constitutional Court during the same period.
'Only since the beginning of 2025, the Ombudsman’s Office has received 266 appeals concerning possible violations of constitutional rights – this is more than the number of constitutional complaints registered in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine during the same period,' - he noted.
Lubinets emphasized that the Ombudsman’s Office helps citizens access mechanisms of constitutional control. Some of these appeals have already been used to file official lawsuits in the Constitutional Court in 2024.
Since the beginning of 2025, the Ombudsman’s Office has recorded a significant number of appeals regarding possible violations of constitutional rights. Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets stressed the importance of the role of the Ombudsman as an effective channel for citizens to access justice and protect their constitutional rights.
