According to glavcom.ua: After prolonged hostilities in the Gaza Strip, the humanitarian situation there is getting worse. Residents describe tents that have an unpleasant smell, and children cough from the stench. Elevated levels of waste, sewage, and smoke pose a serious health threat, leading to outbreaks of infections among residents of temporary camps.

“I don’t feel fresh air. There is unbearable stench in my tent, children cough in the morning,” said resident of Khan Younis Mahmoud Abu Reida.

The UN is preparing a waste disposal and recycling plant plan in Gaza. The US has proposed the creation of international forces to stabilize the situation, but the ceasefire agreement through which it was achieved did not stop the new wave of violence between Israel and Hamas militants.

Summary

After prolonged hostilities in the Gaza Strip, the humanitarian crisis is only deepening, with clean water supply, waste, and infrastructure remaining extremely strained. International efforts to alleviate the situation have yet to yield significant results, while the conflict continues without signs of resolution.
