Forecasters Warn of Incoming Cold Front

According to ХВИЛЯ: Meteorologist Natalia Didenko has issued a warning for a sharp drop in temperatures across Ukraine from April 7 through April 9. The country is expected to experience rain, strong winds, and the possibility of wet snow as a cold atmospheric front moves through, shifting the air masses. This sudden shift is typical for early spring in Eastern Europe, where weather patterns can change rapidly.

On April 7, daytime temperatures will fall to between +6 and +9 degrees Celsius, while in the southern and eastern regions they will range from +9 to +13 degrees. In Kyiv, the forecast calls for temperatures of +7 to +9 degrees, accompanied by rain and a powerful northwesterly wind, with gusts potentially reaching storm strength of 15-20 meters per second in some areas.

“A new cold air mass will move in and the air temperature will drop during the day to +6 to +9 degrees,” noted Natalia Didenko.

The cold wave will extend to southern and eastern regions on April 8. On both April 8 and 9, there is a likelihood of wet snowfall. Nighttime frosts are anticipated in western, northern, and some central oblasts. Forecasters are also cautioning individuals sensitive to weather changes about potential health impacts, including aggravated cardiovascular issues, headaches, and blood pressure fluctuations.

A tentative date for a return to warmer weather in Ukraine is April 14-15.

“In short, a cold spell is coming, and warmth will return, tentatively from April 14-15,” Didenko stated.
