Rodins'ke under Ukraine's control: the 'Red Kalina' brigade refutes Russian statements
Situation in Rodins'ke
According to Главком: The 14th operational brigade 'Red Kalina' maintains control over the settlement of Rodins'ke in Donetsk region, refuting claims of its capture by Russian occupiers. On December 27, the Russian military command announced the occupation of Rodins'ke, but Ukrainian soldiers assure that this settlement remains under the control of the Defense Forces.
At the end of October, the fighters of the 'Red Kalina' brigade already refuted similar claims from Russia, confirming their presence and control over this region. The situation in Ukraine remains complicated, as in 2025, Russian occupation forces took control of about 4.7 thousand square kilometers of Ukrainian territory, which accounts for approximately 0.78% of the total area of the country. In 2024, Ukraine lost control over more than 3.6 thousand square kilometers, however, the fighters of the 'Red Kalina' continue to carry out their mission.
'Rodins'ke is under the control of the Defense Forces - 14th operational brigade 'Red Kalina'', representatives of the brigade reported.
They also noted: 'Our mission is to confront the enemy in all dimensions of this war.' These words emphasize the determination of Ukrainian soldiers to fight for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and assure that control over Rodins'ke remains with them.
The importance of controlling territories
This situation is significant in the context of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, particularly in the Donbas, where control over territories remains strategically important. Confirmation of control over the settlement of Rodins'ke indicates active efforts by Ukrainian soldiers to hold their positions and resist Russian aggressors, which may impact the further development of events in the region.
