According to Главком: In the evening of December 24, 2023, Kharkiv and the region became targets for enemy strikes, resulting in damage to critical infrastructure and vehicles, as well as an injury to a guard. According to information, two strikes by 'Molniya' type drones were recorded in the city.

The first hit occurred near residential buildings, damaging several cars, a garage, and shattering windows in apartments. The second hit took place on the territory of a critical infrastructure facility, leading to significant losses. Around 19:30, the Russian armed forces struck the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv.

As a result of the shelling, a 59-year-old security guard at the facility suffered burns, but there were no civilian casualties. The Mayor Ihor Terekhov noted that

“today all day the enemy has been hitting critical infrastructure facilities that provide warmth to the citizens and supply hot and cold water”

.
