Russia attacked Mykolaiv region with drones: part of the area was left without electricity

Massive attack on Mykolaiv region

According to Главком: On the night of January 3, Russian forces launched a massive attack on the critical infrastructure of Mykolaiv region using drones. As a result of this attack, part of the settlements in the Mykolaiv district was left without electricity supply. The attack included the use of Shahed-131/136 unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as a strike drone of the type 'Molniya', which hit the suburbs of Mykolaiv, damaging a gas station building and two cars. In addition, the Kutsurub community also suffered from FPV drones.

The first explosions in Mykolaiv were heard around 00:30, signaling the start of a massive bombardment by Russian forces. At the same time, on January 2, the Russian army struck Kharkiv, resulting in fatalities. The strike hit a residential apartment building in the Kyiv district of Kharkiv, where the bodies of a boy and a deceased woman, presumably the child's mother, were found under the rubble.

Situation in the region

These events, taking place against the backdrop of rising tensions in the region, raise concern among local residents and representatives of the authorities. The statement by the head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration Vitaliy Kim and the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration Oleg Synegubov underscores the seriousness of the situation and the need to ensure the safety of the population.

These attacks indicate a continuation of the escalation of the conflict, which affects the civilian population in Ukraine.
