Russia attacked Sloviansk TPP: energy workers killed
Russian invaders have again attacked energy infrastructure, resulting in two employees of Sloviansk TPP being injured. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and demanded an adequate response from the world to such terrorist acts.
“Just now, a few hours ago, there was a strike on Sloviansk TPP – a strike by Russian bombs. Unfortunately, two people have died. My condolences. There are injured. And this is pure terror. Normal people do not fight like this, and there should be an appropriate response from the world to this Russian war.”
Former head of 'Ukrenergo' Volodymyr Kudrytskyi has been released from pretrial detention after posting bail. He is prohibited from leaving Kyiv without the permission of law enforcement, communicating with witnesses, and must wear an electronic bracelet. Kudrytskyi will attempt to appeal the court's decision. An explosion occurred at the sorting center of 'Ukrposhta', resulting in two customs workers and three 'Ukrposhta' employees being injured. Emergency services ceased operations, and investigative actions are ongoing. Specialists have identified the sender and discovered another suspicious package.
Zelensky signed laws extending martial law and mobilization
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed laws extending the martial law and general mobilization in the country for 90 days. These measures will be in effect at least until February 3, 2026. Earlier, the Rada supported Zelensky's proposal to extend martial law and mobilization.
TikTok changes ownership
The agreement for the transfer of TikTok's American assets has received approval from China and the USA. The new company controlling the application in the USA will primarily belong to American investors, while the Chinese company ByteDance will lose most of its shares. The events that took place today indicate the continued tension in the situation in Ukraine, increased danger for energy sector workers and postal services, as well as significant legislative steps to strengthen the country's defense capability and a change of ownership of the popular application.
