Attacks on Zaporizhzhia on February 10-11

According to Главком: Russian forces carried out a series of strikes against Zaporizhzhia and its surrounding region on February 10-11, damaging infrastructure and residential buildings. On the night of February 11, the city of Zaporizhzhia was targeted by attack drones, which hit a key infrastructure facility in the regional center, triggering a major fire. Windows were blown out in several apartment blocks, though preliminary reports indicate no casualties.

The assault left over 11,000 households in two city districts without electricity. While power restoration for all consumers is planned, resuming central heating services is expected to take considerably longer. In the Komunar district, authorities are already setting up additional emergency shelters to support residents. Emergency and utility crews are working around the clock to swiftly address the aftermath of the attack.

Situation in Vilniansk and Zaporizhzhia

Separately, on the evening of February 10, the Zaporizhzhia district, including the town of Vilniansk, was attacked. One woman was wounded in Vilniansk, where a private house was destroyed and nearby buildings were damaged. The Vilniansk community was also left without electricity, severely complicating life for local residents. Earlier on February 10, a strike on Zaporizhzhia damaged a kindergarten.

These attacks on February 10-11 underscore the ongoing military campaign's severe impact on civilians and critical infrastructure in southern Ukraine. Restoring utilities and ensuring the safety of residents remain top priorities for local authorities and emergency services. The extensive repair efforts will likely demand significant resources and time, highlighting the deepening humanitarian strain in the region. The city of Zaporizhzhia, home to a major nuclear power plant, has been a frequent target since the war's early stages.
