According to Главком: On January 2, Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia with strike drones, causing significant damage but no casualties. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported the attack on Telegram, noting that explosions occurred in the city at 23:45.
As a result of the attack, the following were damaged:
- residential buildings;
- shopping center;
- civil infrastructure.
On New Year's Eve, prior to the attack, five civilians were injured. Among the injured were two women aged 44 and 59, as well as two men aged 56 and 76. One of the injured was hospitalized.

She also emphasized that 'the enemy will not achieve its goals.' For their part, representatives of the regional military administration confirmed that 'fortunately, no one was injured' as a result of the attacks on January 2.
