Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia, Uman, and Volyn: casualties and power outages
Attacks on Ukrainian cities December 26, 2023
According to Главком: On December 26, 2023, Russian forces launched attacks on several cities in Ukraine, including Zaporizhzhia, Uman, Volyn, and Odesa. These actions resulted in casualties among the civilian population, as well as significant damage to infrastructure. In Zaporizhzhia, one person, a 58-year-old man, was killed in the attack, and three others were injured. The attack was carried out using a guided aerial bomb that struck a private house.
Uman also endured attacks, which resulted in injuries to people. Volyn was subjected to drone attacks, causing damage to the facilities of the Lviv Railway at the Kovel station. On the night of December 26, Russian terrorists attacked a critical infrastructure facility in the Volyn region. Moreover, the attack on the ports of Odesa resulted in damage to elevators, warehouses of civilian enterprises, barges, and vessels.
Impact of attacks on infrastructure and population
As a result of the attacks on generation facilities and power transmission networks, subscribers in five regions were left without electricity. This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Ivan Fedorov, as well as Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Oleksiy Kuleba and the head of the Volyn Regional State Administration, Ivan Rudnytskyi. These events once again highlight the threats that continue to exist for the civilian population in Ukraine.
The attacks on Ukrainian cities on December 26 reflect the ongoing escalation of the conflict and serious risks to the safety of the civilian population.
