Mass attack of Russian troops on Kyiv region
According to Главком: On January 9, 2023, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the Kyiv region, resulting in four fatalities and ten injuries. Strikes were recorded in four districts of the Kyiv region, particularly in Brovary district, where a private house caught fire. Rescuers freed four individuals trapped in the basement. All rescued had carbon monoxide poisoning and were hospitalized.
Destruction was also recorded in other areas of Kyiv region:
- A private house was damaged in Vyshhorod district;
- In Obukhiv district, storage facilities and residential areas were hit;
- Two private estates were damaged in Boryspil district.
In total, four fatalities and ten injuries have been reported in Kyiv region, five of whom were hospitalized.
Attacks on Dnipropetrovsk region
Additionally, Russian terrorists attacked Dnipropetrovsk region, leading to damage to infrastructure in Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and Pavlohrad districts. As a result of a drone attack on energy infrastructure, consumers in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions were left without electricity supply. These events confirm the continuation of aggressive tactics aimed at civilian infrastructure and population.
These attacks occur against the backdrop of escalating military actions in Ukraine and indicate ongoing attempts by Russian forces to destabilize the situation in regions already affected by the conflict. Strikes on civilian objects and energy infrastructure threaten the lives of local residents and emphasize the importance of protecting civilians in wartime. This may also affect the international response and efforts to support Ukraine in its struggle against aggression.
