A challenge to the international community

In a situation where the occupying government of the NPP blocks the automatic transmission of data regarding nuclear and radiation conditions through the IRMIS system of the IAEA, it is this center's specialists who carry out constant radiation monitoring in the observation zone in the territory controlled by Ukraine. The only way to restore nuclear safety and stability in the region is the complete demilitarization of the Zaporizhzhia NPP and its return under the full control of the legitimate operator - JSC 'NAEK 'Energoatom', - the statement reads.

The Ministry of Energy calls on international organizations and foreign partners to enhance sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation and take urgent measures to stop shelling of Ukraine's nuclear infrastructure facilities.

It should be noted that the attack by the Russian terrorist army on July 4 caused a power outage at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The occupiers attacked the power line that connects the temporarily occupied NPP with Ukraine’s united energy system.
