According to Главком: Russia has begun using a new unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) type Shahed, which is equipped with an infrared spotlight. This element, according to military expert Sergey 'Flash' Beskrestnov, may be intended to blind Ukrainian anti-aircraft drones and aviation. The implementation of such a technological solution indicates that the enemy continues to work on countermeasures.

The Shahed drone is a cheaper version of an Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle. The Shahed-107 model was presented by Iran in 2023. It has a reduced flight range of about 1400 km, as well as a lighter warhead compared to previous versions. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps publicly presented the Shahed-107 UAV for the first time in June 2023.
