New Heavy Ground Robotic System Enters Combat
According to Главком: Russian forces have begun deploying a new heavy ground robotic system, known as the 'Shuttle,' in combat operations, with its use first documented in the Kharkiv region. This marks the first confirmed combat deployment of the platform since its unveiling in April 2024. The drone is reported to feature a wheeled chassis with ultra-low-pressure tires, enabling it to traverse difficult terrain and water obstacles. This tire technology not only enhances mobility but also reduces ground pressure, theoretically lowering the probability of triggering anti-tank mines. The ongoing war in Ukraine has become a testing ground for advanced military robotics, with both sides seeking technological advantages.
Ukrainian Special Operations Target Logistics
According to its developers, the system's purpose is to clear paths through anti-tank minefields by detonating explosive charges along a corridor approximately six meters wide. Such systems are designed to create safe passageways for troops and vehicles, reducing the need for personnel to enter hazardous zones.
Separately from this new frontline development, Ukrainian special forces from the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense conducted a successful operation on the night of April 5-6, 2026, disabling the Slavyanin railway ferry. This vessel was the last ferry of its kind operating in the Kerch Strait and was supporting Russian military logistics. Furthermore, on the night of March 13-14, 2026, the GUR executed a multi-component operation in the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait, launching fire attacks on infrastructure at the Port Kavkaz in Russia's Krasnodar Krai.
