Масштабні удари Росії по енергетичній інфраструктурі: області та міста залишилися без електрики.

Massive strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure

According to Главком: Russia launched massive strikes on energy facilities in Ukraine, leading to power outages for consumers in several regions, including Donetsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and the city of Slavutych. Emergency recovery work is ongoing in all regions where security conditions allow.

As a result of attacks that occurred in several regions, consumers in Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions remain without power. The city of Slavutych has experienced complete power outages. As of January 5, at 9:30 AM, electricity consumption in Ukraine was 1.3% higher than at the same time on the previous working day.

Emergency recovery work and consumption restrictions

It is noted that emergency recovery work has commenced wherever possible, according to representatives of Ukrenergo. It is also stated that electricity consumption shows a growing trend. In this connection, measures to limit electricity consumption have been introduced, including:

  • power restriction schedules for industry and business,
  • hourly blackouts for all categories of consumers.

These massive strikes on energy infrastructure indicate the continuation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which negatively affects the daily lives of the population. The disconnection of a significant number of consumers highlights the vulnerability of Ukraine's energy system, resulting from military actions. The measures taken to limit electricity consumption are a response to the increasing demand for electricity amid cold weather and instability in the energy sector.
