Russians assault Pokrovsk with 10 armored vehicles: why the attacks are failing
According to hvylya.net: Russian troops launched attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk direction, attempting to take advantage of bad weather to hinder Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance. Fortunately, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled these attacks, as reported by Yulia Stepanuyk, head of the communications department of the 117th separate heavy mechanized brigade.
'There were several mechanized assaults they are trying to conduct in bad weather when our drones cannot fly properly. This week they attacked with 10 units of armored vehicles.'
According to Stepanuyk, Russian troops shifted from infantry attacks to the mass use of armored vehicles, but this did not yield the desired results. Ukrainian forces detected and destroyed part of the enemy equipment even before it approached their positions. The rest of the armored vehicles retreated when the enemy crews realized the futility of the attack.
'We observed two APCs that also tried to advance. It also failed – they were detected in advance and hit. That's how it all ended.'
During the attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops unsuccessfully attempted to exploit the bad weather to hinder Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance. Ukrainian defenders repelled the attacks, destroying part of the enemy's equipment and repelling all attempts of the enemy to advance.
