Attacks by the Russian Federation on Ukraine on June 24

According to Главком: On June 24, the Russian Federation launched strikes across Ukraine, damaging multiple Naftogaz gas stations in three regions and hitting gas extraction facilities in the Poltava area. One person suffered serious injuries, and a 24-year-old deminer working for an international humanitarian organization was killed in the attacks.

The strikes targeted several Ukrnafta filling stations in the Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. According to Serhiy Koretsky, a female employee was severely wounded during a Shahed drone attack and was hospitalized in critical condition. Due to the destruction, operations at these stations have been halted.

Impact on Infrastructure

Overnight and into the morning of June 24, Russian forces used drones to attack production assets in the Poltava region. Significant damage was reported at gas extraction and storage facilities, forcing a suspension of operations at some sites. A fire at one facility was extinguished, but no personnel or emergency responders were harmed.

In the village of Novopetrivka, Kherson region, shelling killed a 24-year-old demining specialist employed by the international organization Norwegian People's Aid (NPA). Additionally, Russian attacks in Zaporizhzhia and Konotop left six people wounded in each city.

These attacks underscore Russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine and its devastating impact on civilian infrastructure.

Damage to key energy assets-such as gas stations and extraction sites-threatens to disrupt fuel and power supplies, worsening the humanitarian crisis in the region. The death of a humanitarian worker also highlights the extreme dangers faced by personnel operating in conflict zones, emphasizing the critical importance of their mission amid war.

The ongoing assaults by Russian forces have not been limited to recent events. In a related incident, strikes targeting Naftogaz facilities in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions further illustrate the escalating threats to Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Such attacks contribute to a deepening humanitarian crisis as the nation grapples with the repercussions of military aggression.
