According to Главком: A Russian military strike hit a residential area in Zaporizhzhia, resulting in three fatalities and extensive damage. The attack, which occurred on the night of January 17, involved assault drones. The victims of the shelling were:

• A 48-year-old man
• A 43-year-old woman
• A 57-year-old neighbor

The assault damaged at least six private houses, and a fire that broke out destroyed three vehicles.

Widespread Power Outages

The strike also left nearly 1,500 consumers without electricity. Furthermore, a fire caused by a hostile attack in the Zaporizhzhia district on the night of January 18 led to severe power supply issues in the city of Vilniansk, where over 15,000 subscribers were left without power. Critical infrastructure in the region has been switched to backup power to maintain essential services.

This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

This incident is part of the ongoing war in Ukraine, which continues to inflict heavy civilian casualties and destruction.
