Russian wrestler Sadulayev denied visa again: he will miss the World Championship
Two-time Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling Abdulrashid Sadulayev was not allowed to attend the World Championship in Zagreb, and thus he will not be able to participate in the competitions. This was reported by the publication 'Glavkom'.
«Abdulrashid Sadulayev will not travel to the World Championship (due to a visa denial)», – stated the head of the Wrestling Federation of Russia Mikhail Mamiashvili.
The wrestling competitions will take place in Zagreb from September 13 to 21. Sadulayev is 29 years old, a two-time Olympic champion, six-time world champion, four-time European champion, and six-time winner of the Russian championships.
In April 2025, Sadulayev also could not participate in the European Championship in Slovakia due to a visa denial. Russian media reported that in 2024 he received a 59-month entry ban to Schengen countries.
Abdulrashid Sadulayev will not be able to participate in the wrestling World Championship in Zagreb due to a visa denial. This is not the first time the athlete has faced issues obtaining a visa to participate in international competitions.
