Divorce in Action from 2026: how to terminate a marriage without queues

According to glavcom.ua: In 2026, the application 'Diya' will introduce the possibility of divorce. This news was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to Svyrydenko, the divorce service will be available in 'Diya' from next year for couples without minor children.

«Previously, the procedure required several visits to state registration offices and the completion of paper documents. Now this process will be much simpler - without queues and unnecessary trips», - emphasized the Prime Minister.

As noted, after submitting an application in 'Diya', the system will automatically check the information in the registries, and in a month, the marriage will be terminated. However, during this time, it will be possible to cancel the submitted application. The certificate of divorce will also be available in the application.

Earlier, the Minister of Justice, Herman Halushchenko, reported that in Ukraine, the queue for marriage registration through the service 'e-Marriage' is half a year. He also announced the launch of a new service for citizens - 'e-Divorce'.

According to the government, during the first six months of 2025, at least 38,671 marriages were dissolved in Ukrainian courts. However, the Dnipropetrovsk region became the leader in the number of divorces this year.

The addition of the possibility of divorce through the 'Diya' application is an important step in simplifying the divorce process for Ukrainians, given the large number of divorces in the country. This will help reduce queues and simplify the procedure for those who wish to end their family relationships.
