European air travel is gradually losing its status as ultra-affordable, and low-cost carriers are no longer hiding this. Europe's largest budget carrier Ryanair has officially warned of further price increases for tickets and a change in pricing policy. The company announced this as it released financial results and forecasts for the upcoming year. This is reported by Ryanair.

Ryanair tickets are already becoming more expensive

The airline notes that the trend towards rising prices started back at the end of 2025 and is not temporary. In the fourth quarter, the average flight price increased year-on-year, which is atypical for the low-cost model. Previously, Ryanair maintained low fares to stimulate demand and restore passenger flow after the crisis years.

Analysts indicate that the current dynamics suggest a change in the pricing approach even in the budget transport segment.

Ryanair's forecast for 2026 predicts further increases

In its financial forecasts, the company clearly states that in 2026 the pace of price growth will accelerate. The average ticket price will rise faster than last year. The main factors for this decision include:

  • stable high demand for European flights

  • limited opportunities for further price reductions

  • strong booking figures for the upcoming months

The company emphasizes that thanks to high flight occupancy, the carrier can adjust prices without the risk of losing passengers.

Let us remind you that Ryanair will cease flights to several French cities.
