Starting November 10, 2026, Ryanair will close registration at the airport and luggage check-in 60 minutes before the scheduled departure. Currently, the deadline is 40 minutes. Passengers planning to fly should take the new requirements into account, and those traveling only with hand luggage should check in advance the Ryanair hand luggage rules. Changes are reported by Made in Vilnius.

Currently, registration and luggage check-in counters close 40 minutes before departure. Starting November 10, this deadline will extend to one hour. The new rule will be applicable in all airports served by Ryanair.

The company explained that passengers often do not have enough time for security checks and passport control. Due to queues, some travelers risk missing their flights. The new deadline is intended to provide more time for those checking in luggage, as registration counters are planned to open earlier.

Ryanair's marketing manager, Dara Brady, stated that the changes will affect about 20% of the airline's customers who check in luggage. The rest of the passengers will still be able to check in online under the usual rules.

Passengers without checked luggage should not feel any changes if they check in online before arriving at the airport. However, it is important not to miss the online check-in deadline: a fee may be applied for missing it, which should be kept in mind when arranging online check-in with Ryanair.

The airline is also expanding the use of self-service kiosks. They are available in more than 95% of Ryanair's network airports and allow passengers to check in luggage and print tags.

If you have a suitcase to check in, arrive at the airport with plenty of time and check the operating hours of the counters for your flight. This is especially relevant during peak times when queues at EU airports may be longer due to document checks and security controls.
