According to Главком: The counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained an agent of the Russian Federation who was correcting airstrikes of the aggressor. The detained was mobilized from Dnipro and was recruited in the fall of 2025. His activity consisted of transmitting the coordinates of the temporary basing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard.

According to information, the suspect voluntarily left his military unit, which became the basis for his further search. The Security Service of Ukraine detained the agent at the residence of his relatives. During the detention, a smartphone was seized from him, on which evidence of his malicious activity was found.

Legal consequences and the importance of counterintelligence activities

Investigators of the Security Service informed the detainee about the suspicion under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently, the agent is in custody, and he faces life imprisonment.

This incident highlights the importance of counterintelligence activities in the context of ongoing aggression from the Russian Federation. The detention of the agent, who tried to harm Ukraine's defense capability, indicates the active work of the Security Service in identifying and neutralizing threats from hostile forces.
