Emergency power outages canceled: which regions have restored electricity supply
Power engineers have restored electricity supply in Kyiv and Zaporizhia regions. Emergency power outages have been canceled in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing DTEK.
The DTEK press service reported that all households in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions are back online. Power engineers continue to work on specific requests.
The Ministry of Energy also reported that the power situation in the Zaporizhia region has been stabilized. The emergency outage schedules that were introduced after the massive attack on energy infrastructure by the enemy have now been completely canceled in the Zaporizhia region.
«Power engineers continue to make every effort to eliminate the consequences of shelling and restore electricity supply in all affected regions. Emergency recovery work is ongoing continuously,» the message states.
It was previously reported that the power engineers have fully restored electricity supply on the left bank of Kyiv following a nighttime shelling by the Russian Federation.
Reaction to the attack on Ukraine's infrastructure
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also made a statement regarding the protection of the capital's energy infrastructure, specifically TPP-5 and TPP-6. He added that on October 10, restoration has been ongoing throughout the day following the Russian strike. Over 725,000 households have already received electricity supply.
On the night of October 10, the Russian Federation again launched a massive attack on energy infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. The strike coincided with the anniversary of the first bombardments of the energy system that the occupiers began in 2022. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, during the night the Russian Federation attacked the Ukrainian energy system with over 450 drones and more than thirty missiles.
Moreover, Mayor Vitali Klitschko addressed the residents of Kyiv and urged them to focus and act pragmatically: gather water supplies, prepare a first aid kit, food supplies, charge backup power devices. Prepare warm clothing and do not ignore alarm signals.
Due to the massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, power engineers managed to restore electricity supply in several regions, however, the situation remains tense and work continues to restore power lines and prepare cities for possible further events. At the same time, the authorities are taking measures to protect the population and infrastructure from such attacks.
