Ukrainian filmmaker and freed Kremlin prisoner Oleg Sentsov has taken responsibility and become the commander of the battalion. He stated this during the YES conference, emphasizing that the war in eastern Ukraine will last a long time.
“I have bad news for you: the war will not end tomorrow, it will not end the day after tomorrow, and most likely it will not end this year,” he stressed.
Sentsov urged to stop talking about the end of the conflict and to focus on actions that will help end it. He noted that the situation at the front has changed, and the troops are using new methods of warfare.
In his interview, Sentsov also emphasized the importance of further pressure on Russia, both political and economic, to force it to withdraw from the conflict. This indicates the director's readiness to help Ukraine in its struggle against the occupiers and in defending its independence.
