According to Главком: During his visit to the South Korean capital, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with his counterpart, Cho Tae-yul. The conversation covered key areas such as political dialogue, economic ties, and security cooperation. Sybiha briefed the Korean minister on battlefield developments, Ukraine’s ongoing peace efforts, and recent advancements in the country’s defense industry.

The two officials also addressed shared security threats arising from the deepening military partnership between Moscow and Pyongyang. A major focus was the fate of North Korean prisoners of war. Cho had previously indicated that Seoul was preparing to negotiate with Kyiv over the transfer of two North Korean soldiers currently held in Ukraine.

Andrii Sybiha stated: 'Our discussions reaffirmed the strong and dynamic nature of cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Korea. We explored avenues for advancing high-level political dialogue, expanding economic and business ties, involving Korean companies in Ukraine’s reconstruction, and deepening security collaboration.'

He also expressed gratitude to the Republic of Korea for its unwavering support, highlighting the global consequences of Russian aggression, particularly Moscow’s involvement of North Korea in the war against Ukraine.

Sybiha emphasized: 'We have a clear understanding of the next steps in line with international humanitarian law. We agreed that the development of Ukraine-Korea cooperation will help strengthen security, stability, and the rule of law both in Europe and the Indo-Pacific region.'
