According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukraine is expected to experience significant temperature contrasts at the beginning of 2026. The peak of cooling will occur on January 1, when nighttime temperatures are forecasted to range from 0 to -6 degrees. At the same time, in the south of the country, temperatures on January 3 may reach +1 to +5 degrees, indicating a rapid retreat of cold air.

During the day on January 3, temperatures will fluctuate from -2 degrees to +4 degrees. In the western regions and in the south of Ukraine, temperatures may reach +7 degrees, and in Crimea – even +11 degrees. Despite these abnormal warm spells, the average temperature in January 2026 is expected to be 1.5 degrees lower than the climatic norm.
