Ukrainian Military Data on Russian Casualties

According to Главком: During a closed-door briefing for journalists, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, provided details on Russian military losses. He stated that the enemy grouping maintains a strength of 711,000 to 712,000 personnel, which includes operational reserves. However, Russian forces are suffering approximately 1,000 to 1,100 casualties every single day. These figures highlight the immense human cost of Russia's ongoing offensive operations.

Syrskyi noted that the size of the enemy force has remained stable over the last six months. He explained that Russian forces have fully met, and even exceeded, their recruitment and mobilization targets. This indicates that their rate of losses is outpacing their capacity to replace personnel. According to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of February 6, 2026, the Russian Federation has lost about 1,244,560 personnel in its war against Ukraine.

Frontline Situation and Analysis

Available information shows that Russia sustained 35,000 personnel losses in December 2025 alone. These numbers underscore the conflict's intensity and significantly impact its overall dynamics.

Information on Russian losses and troop strength is of strategic importance for assessing the future course of the war in Ukraine. Maintaining a stable force size despite heavy casualties could point to an effective Russian recruitment system. Conversely, if the casualty rate consistently exceeds replenishment capacity, it may eventually degrade the Russian army's combat effectiveness. Given these data points, the frontline situation requires careful monitoring and analysis by military experts and analysts.
