There are two job vacancies for every unemployed Ukrainian: where to look for work
The State Employment Service offers vacancies for job seekers
The State Employment Service was searching for jobs for 132 thousand people, with an average of two job openings for each job seeker. This was reported by 'Hlavkom' citing the State Employment Service.
«The number of job offers on the Unified Job Portal (which combines offers from the State Employment Service and leading commercial job search websites) was 241 thousand at the beginning of August, while 132 thousand people were looking for work through the State Employment Service,» the press service notes.
Recruitment consultants from the Employment Service offer job seekers vacancies not only from their own database but also from the Unified Portal. There are two vacant job positions for each job seeker through the state service. In addition, Employment Service specialists offer opportunities for training, business development, and more, the state service reports.
Labor shortage and its causes
As of August 1, 2025, there were 241 thousand job offers on the Unified Job Portal of the State Employment Service. The most vacancies this year were in professions such as salesperson, driver, cook, engineer, accountant, doctor, specialist, administrator, locksmith, electrician, loader, and others.
The most in-demand specialists are salespeople, consultants, and sales managers.
The labor shortage is caused by military actions in the country and changes in the economy. Structural unemployment arises from the lack of necessary skills and qualifications among job seekers for the most in-demand positions.
Each job seeker has the opportunity to choose from a variety of vacancies offered through the State Employment Service and receive additional support in job search and development opportunities. Cooperation between employers and state services helps reduce the labor shortage and improve the labor market situation.
