Holodomor-genocide: how Russia continues the policy of destroying Ukrainians

The policy of destroying Ukrainians: holodomor-genocide
Голодомор: історія незламності та боротьби українського народу за життя

Today Ukraine and the whole world honor the memory of millions of Ukrainians, victims of famines caused by totalitarian regimes of the last century. The Soviet authorities committed artificial famines in 1921-1923, 1932-1933 and 1946-1947, resulting in the death of millions of people. This was a crime against humanity aimed at undermining the will of the Ukrainian people and destroying their aspirations for statehood.

By lighting candles in memory of the victims of genocide, we honor those who stood against the destruction of Ukraine.

Ukraine is once again facing aggression from Russia, which employs the same methods of exacerbated hunger and terror. The occupation of Crimea, parts of Donetsk and Luhansk, and violations of sovereignty are demonstrations of the legacy of imperial and Soviet genocidal policies.

The international community must hold accountable all those responsible for genocide and war crimes on the territory of Ukraine.

Ukraine continues to document crimes and cooperate with international judicial bodies to pursue justice. Recognizing the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide is an important step toward preventing similar tragedies in the future.

By honoring the memory of the victims of famines, we safeguard the future of Ukraine and all of Europe, supporting the desire of Ukrainians to fight for freedom and independence.

Ukraine and the world do not forget the tragic events of the Holodomor, and take measures to prevent similar crimes in the future.
