According to glavcom.ua: The British singer of Albanian descent Dua Lipa is now a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo. The decree was signed by the country's president Vjosa Osmani, who expressed gratitude to the star for her contribution to the cultural life of the country. It is worth noting that Dua Lipa was born in London in 1995 to a family of ethnic Albanians from Kosovo who left their homeland.

«Dua and Kosovo have always been inseparable. From the largest global stages to the hearts of millions, she carried our story with strength, pride, and grace», – Osmani wrote.

The singer began her career in 2014, first as a model. She released two successful albums, and the song 'Levitating' from the album 'Future Nostalgia' became a hit of 2021 according to Billboard Hot 100. Dua Lipa has also received numerous awards, including Brit Awards, 'Grammy', and MTV Europe Music Awards.

Dua Lipa takes pride in her roots and always remembers her homeland, as reported by the magazine 'Glavkom'.
