Security Guarantees for Post-War Ukraine

According to Главком: The USA and Europe are preparing a document on security guarantees for post-war Ukraine. The aim of this document is to ensure lasting peace and prevent new aggression. A meeting to discuss these issues is scheduled for Tuesday in Paris, chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Representatives from the United States will participate in the summit, including:

• Jared Kushner

as well as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and Commander of US Forces in Europe Alexis Greenkevich. Ukraine expresses a desire to receive guarantees for up to 50 years. At the same time, the current draft of the document provides for a 15-year period.

The leaders' meeting may take place by the end of January on US territory. President Macron announced this meeting of partner countries at the end of last year. It is important to note that the document of the joint settlement plan between Ukraine and the USA consists of 20 points, of which 90% have already been agreed upon.

“Kyiv is working on two scenarios for the development of events – diplomacy or active defense” – Volodymyr Zelensky.

Among the main provisions of the document is the creation of multinational 'support forces', where the Ukrainian army will hold the defense on the front lines, while allies will provide 'backstop'. The USA is also ready to provide intelligence data, drones, and satellites to document any violations of the ceasefire regime.

Thus, the preparation of security guarantees for Ukraine assumes critical importance in the context of international relations and stability in the region. Efforts aimed at creating long-term guarantees may become a significant element for ensuring peace in Europe after the end of the conflict, highlighting the role of international support in strengthening Ukraine's national security.
