USA and security guarantees for Ukraine: what is known about the conditions and refutation
According to Студия Руслана Бизяева: The Financial Times publication about the future security guarantees from the USA for Ukraine potentially being related to the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas caused a sharp reaction. The White House officially refuted this information, calling it a lie. However, in political circles in Kyiv, it sparked discussion.
MP Dmytro Razumkov stated that the president has the constitutional right to make such a decision unilaterally. However, other MPs deny the existence of a majority in parliament ready to support a renunciation of territory.
“In my experience, I communicate with many colleagues, and not a single colleague has raised such an issue. This is the first point. Therefore, I do not understand what discussions in the corridors are being referred to,” one of the MPs noted.
Internal political struggle and energy crisis
At the same time, the internal political struggle and the energy crisis are intensifying. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced a transition to a distributed electricity generation strategy. The most critical situation with energy supply has occurred in:
- Odesa
- Kyiv
- Dnipro
- Kharkiv
At the same time, a corruption scheme was revealed: traders, having insider information, bought electricity from state enterprises at a low price and resold it to the industry, causing losses of 2.1 billion hryvnias. MP Zheleznyak initiated the creation of a temporary investigation committee regarding the situation in 'Energoatom', pointing out the absence of a supervisory board.
